Our Credo: Responsibility

At Janssen, we take great care when providing information about our therapeutic areas and indications, as well as our clinical research and development activities.

Therefore, in the Janssen Medical Cloud, we provide content based on trusted sources, such as renowned medical journals, and take into account the current state of research and clinical trials.

At Janssen, we take a holistic approach, combining economic, environmental and social dimensions. This is based on the Credo of responsibility established by our parent company Johnson & Johnson as early as 1943. For 80 years, we have been committed to meeting the needs of our employees, pharmacists, physicians and their patients.

At the same time, our business activities are guided by the principle of sustainability, we attach great importance to research according to ethical standards, we are committed to social projects, and we work to improve health in developing and emerging countries.

In addition to our interest in medical progress in line with the highest ethical standards in research, we at Janssen have established patient safety as the cornerstone of our entrepreneurial activities.

With our holistic view of patient care in the EMEA region, one of our concerns is to provide carefully selected information for medical professionals.

Orientation to the needs of physicians and pharmacists

The goal of the Janssen Medical Cloud is to provide a broad spectrum of information for physicians and pharmacists that helps to communicate about the therapeutic areas in which we conduct research and provide treatments.

We provide content that supports medical professionals in their daily work. To this end, we evaluate a wide variety of sources on the individual medical topics.

Our topic-specific content is based on our holistic approach: We offer information on studies, how our drugs work, and materials for patient discussions and medical educational events.

Quality Assurance and Transparency

The content of our Medical Cloud is created and reviewed by an interdisciplinary team of internal and external authors and experts in their respective fields. The editing of the content goes through a multi-stage process. All content such as text, graphics, photos and videos are carefully selected, created and provided with references (e.g. scientific studies and publications such as peer-reviewed articles in recognized journals). Before the content is published in the Janssen Medical Cloud, it undergoes an approval process to ensure, among other things, that the data is up-to-date and professionally correct in line with the EFPIA code.

Communication experts also participate in the internal quality assurance. They ensure that the texts are written in a comprehensible and easily readable manner.

In our freely accessible area, physicians and other interested visitors to our site can already find initial information on various clinical conditions / diseases / therapeutic areas. In this public area, we do not provide content on specific products and medicines that are available only on prescription.

In addition, we offer an HCP-only area requiring registration, which contains more in-depth articles and graphically presented animations on clinical pictures and information on drugs. Medical professionals can log in or register for this area with their Janssen log-in.

Patients and their families who want information about diseases and treatment options will find it on Janssen With Me.

Transparency of funding and advertising

At Janssen, we are committed to the transparency and disclosure of the financing of our platform - the Janssen Medical Cloud.

The Janssen Medical Cloud is editorially independent. There is no third-party advertising content or editorial commentary. The digital platform is financed solely by Janssen Pharmaceutica NV and our parent company Johnson & Johnson.

If the platform refers to other service providers, external sources, other internet sites, these external references are clearly marked as such.

If physicians and other medical professionals involved in the creation of the content have relevant connections to commercial structures, we will also identify these.

Beyond the usual transparency, the pharmaceutical industry has committed itself to disclosing financial benefits within the framework of the Transparency Code. The publication of payments and monetary benefits to physicians and medical organizations has been freely accessible since the introduction of the disclosure requirement on January 1, 2015. In order to create transparency, we follow the EFPIA (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations) Code. This enables us to work transparently with other players in the healthcare sector.

Further details on our disclosure methodology can be found on our page: "Disclosure: Janssen follows this methodology".

Data protection

The privacy of the users of the Janssen Medical Cloud is a high priority for us. We respect the protection of their data on the internet and want to guarantee them the highest level of security and transparency when dealing with their personal information.

For these reasons, it is important for us, as the operator of the internet portal, to comply with the requirements of data protection. We always collect and process personal data in compliance with GDPR and our company's privacy policy.
